Tucked away amongst the lush bush and under the clearest night skies, Rakiura Cabins is a private sanctuary, completely hidden away from the world. there are two cabins - Kakariki Cabin and Korora Cabin. They are located approximately 50 m apart, yet completely secluded form one another. The stylish, off-grid cabins are beautifully furnished and perfect for couples. Complete with a luxurious king-sized bed, ensuite and fully-equipped kitchen - every comfort has been considered. Go to sleep to the sound of kiwi calling from the bush right outside your cabin - and wake to a dawn chorus like no other. Stewart Island is alive with native birds - you're likely see plenty of birds during your stay, including: kaka, kakariki, tui, bellbird, kiwi, tomtit, fantail, and kereru (wood pigeon).

Kakariki Cabin has the bonus of an outdoor hot tub set amongst the greenery - ideal for stargazing at night. All other aspects of the cabins are similar.

We designed the space for our guests to engage in the nature surrounding the cabins and to disconnect. There is no television, however we offer optional extras including wifi and the ability to book a rental car  (subject to availability).
